LIVERPOOL v spurs saturday evening in mad-rid! June 1
ChRiS> for once since the 25 years dynasty of domestic & European domination, that changed with the advent of SLY tv dictating to the "premiere league" and money being the (a&&)sole motivation for many on & off the field... LIVERPOOL are considered "favourites"
I will write more nearer the game time, i have also taken a pause to prepare for the big one.. IF the LIVERPOOL TEAM , and it seems all except maybe NK shd be fit // are at their strongest , the REdS have enough quality, team spirit and experience to overcome the london club...
i do not predict selection, i propose;
AB
Joe VVD
Trent Fab Robbo
Hendo Gini
"the Firm"
Mane
& Mo..
with perhaps Milly & Shaq OR EVEN Ox, late on & ...super sub Divvy if needed? I don't often agree with TAW, for me they are lost between being a "lads swearing to show we are lads, prog." (like the Redmen kiddies) or a basic (arrogant) self-promoting version of commercialised mainscreamers media .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4ybcttskzU
spurs may well benefit from the pause with regards to their injuries , BUT if REdS hit form in this game ... its number 6 and that , for me, would mean LIVERPOOL would put the manciteh FRAuds IN THE SHADE! :P

however.....
MY "player of the season: ; Gini, i expected great things from the big signings ; AB & VVD, bit Gini was written off by so many "Lfc fans" when Naby, Shaq, & Fab were signed in the summer..he has been so consistent, and pushed his own game up a level v Barca in the semi at Anfield, has become a virtual first choice midfielder, vital & pivotal in transition and ball retention..

the magic of tuesdays 4-0 will send Anfield (I hope) into party mood... to get another 3 points and achieve a record 97 total, with a European champions final on the 1st of June a welcome "distraction" whatever happens, LIVERPOOL have but messi / barca & pep/manciteh fraud Klub , in the shadows ..
with injury questions still over Hendo & Ox, "the Firm" & Naby certainly out, Mo expected back.(Robbo?) . Joe obviously fit,
I would propose ;
ABJoe VVD
Trent Fab Robbo(or Milly)
Hendo (or Ox?) Gini
Origi or ..Shaq)
Mane

"After the high of LIVERPOOL beating Barcelona 4-0 to reach the Champions League final in midweek, the Reds must regain focus for Sunday. The Kop will be no doubt loud as ever and Jurgen Klopp will want to make sure his side are ready in the event of man citeh FRAUD klub dropping points at the Amex. wolves' record against the big six is a slight cause for concern - they have taken points from Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, City and Tottenham this term. They lost at home to Liverpool in December, before beating them in the FA Cup weeks later,
All good and all credit to the team and Juergen, the Magic that is LIVERPOOL brings luck in atmosphere as on Tuesday, messi & co didn't take their chances as we didn't take them in camp nou, .. JK got lucky in as much as having to bring on my player of the season (Gini) at ahlf time for Robbo (done by Luis) and everything was magic ..the early goal, the drive of Gini & headed goal … plus the intelligence of young scouser Trent, put the "greatest player in the world" in the shade, but PLEASE don't congratulate the sharks in the boardroom, they (G & H and Henry & co) kept us waiting for a title challenging squad until after accumulating half a billion from selling top players, Tv, USAcorp sponsors , corp ticket sales & the 3 new kits every summer.. despite billionaires behind the f s group... credit the players, credit Juergen, credit supporters .. but that's where it ends ..

& " Few gave Liverpool a chance of pulling a result like that out of the bag, but they’ve only gone and done it. Divock Origi opened the scoring in the first half, to keep his side’s hopes alive. Having come on at half-time after Andy Robertson fell victim to some trademark Luis Suarez shithousery, Gini Wijnaldum scored two goals in as many minutes to restore parity. Some quick thinking from Trent Alexander-Arnold at a corner allowed Origi to score a Liverpool winner few could have foreseen before kick-off tonight. It was an incredible bit of improvisation from the two players, who caught one of the most experienced teams in world football napping and made them look like chumps."

As I write this, significant that "Ramadan" begins and I wonder how Muslims who play for , and those who SUPPORT our club feel this special week … 2 MORE BIG games,,.,. (and I am not going to discuss the fixtures of manciteh FRAUD klub ..because Its enough use of my extensive energy levels to focus on LIVERPOOL tomorrow and Saturday..
IF , as it seems likely, Mo may join "the Firm" (Bobby) on the sidelines after that injury at st james park.. (luckily it seems not a permanent damage to our Mo) then IF , (big IF) I was managing the TEAM ..I would play all the risk cards ; put Joe back at CB or Fab …!! alongside VVD, include Ox from the start and if he powers down (replace with Shaq) and even through the "wild card" of Brewster..

where THESE will be vital to make it a RED-HOT ATMOSPHERE
few will agree with my proposal;
AB
Joe/FAb VVD
Trent Gini Robbo
Hendo Milly
Ox (Shaq)
Mane
Brewster (Origi)
..if Mo cannot play (as it now seems ) the small team from barcelona wont e able to prepare for this , If Mo is not available , then for me Brewster, a goalscorer, should have no fear and he seems to be a confident lad, has the ability to surprise their defence, Ox is hungry, and with Joe's pace at the back, at CB , his best position, has the pace to deal with their forwards on inevitable counter attacks..
Ox has the engine & dynamism to run at them , and if he tires play Shaq with old heads Hendo & Milly there to win the ball back rotating the midfield they know so well with Gini too.. a combination of experience and surprise could just unlock the away side and set up another amazing night...
…. no one else but REdS.could do this!

The Reds have a mountain to climb if they are to make a second successive final, with the LaLiga champions running out 3-0 winners in the first leg.
To make matters worse, Liverpool will be without star men Mo Salah and Bobby "the Firm" for this game. An already difficult task has been made a lot harder and it's not surprise to see barcelona at 1/50 to progress from this tie.
messi stole the show again last week with a wonderful free-kick from distance leaving Alisson helpless. On balance, Jurgen Klopp will feel that his side were unlucky not to grab an away goal.
It could have been more though. Ousmane Dembele wasted an easy chance in the dying minutes of the game. The commentary team ran stating that could have been the tie over, that's despite the feeling that it already is with the current aggregate score. Not only do they have to score four at some point across the evening to win the tie, Liverpool have to somehow try and keep this extremely talented barcelona attack out.
Without an away goal, they can take some confidence from their performance at Camp Nou last week, although there's just (? too ) much to do. Liverpool have attacking qualities, the longer the tie goes on ad the more they push for goals, the more they may leave themselves exposed at the back. Milly should line up in his usual midfield position ,he has the ability to hit the target from distance.& is also the man tasked with taking penalties and there's always an increased possibility of one being awarded with VAR involved.
- Liverpool are looking to become only the third team in the history of the European Cup/Champions League to come from three goals down after the first leg of a semi-final and progress to the final, after Panathinaikos in 1970-71 and barcelona in 1985-86.
- On only three previous occasions has a team been eliminated from a Champions League knockout tie having won the first leg by three or more goals, with the last occasion being barcelona against Roma in last season’s quarter-final (4-1 first leg, 0-3 second leg).
- Barcelona have won both of their previous Champions League visits to Anfield against Liverpool, winning 3-1 in November 2001 and 1-0 in March 2007; barcelona are the only the away side to win more than once at Anfield in the Champions League.
- In all European competition, Liverpool have only lost one of their 18 home semi-finals at Anfield (W14 D3 L1), losing 0-1 to a Billy Bremner goal against Leeds United in the 1970-71 Fairs Cup.
- barcelona have won two away Champions League games in England this season, winning 4-2 at Spurs and 1-0 at Manchester United – no side has ever won three away games in England in a major European competition in a single season.
- Liverpool are unbeaten in 19 home matches in all competitions (W16 D3 L0), only enjoying a longer run once under Jürgen Klopp - a run of 25 between January 2016 and January 2017.
- In the first leg, Liverpool became the 32nd different Champions League opponent barcelona’s messi has scored against – only former Real Madrid and Schalke striker Raúl has scored against more (33).
- Liverpool haven’t conceded a Champions League goal at Anfield in 367 minutes, since Kylian Mbappé scored for Paris Saint-Germain in September; the Reds haven’t kept five consecutive home clean sheets in the European Cup/Champions League since October 1984.
- barcelona have won just five of their last 18 away Champions League knockout ties (W5 D4 L9), but four of those five victories have come in England (two vs Man City, one vs Arsenal and Man Utd), with the other against PSG in April 2015.
- messi has 12 Champions League goals for barcelona this season, just two shy of his best ever tally in a single season, scoring 14 in 2011-12; the Argentinian has netted more goals against English teams than any other player in the competition’s history (26), including six this season.
this REdGEM special relates to the sequence of games which remain this season, which causes dreams amongst true REdS , especially those who have, like myself, lived through the dynasty of LIVERPOOL dominating domestic & EUROPEAN football ..

Newcastle v LIVERPOOL Saturday NIGHT 4th May 2019
newcs 2 LIVERPOOL 3 VVD, MO & Divvy ;) almost instant post match report (ChRiS)
I was supposed to go to a dance party tonight after the match, I am exhausted, goodness knows how our players feel, i kicked every ball , made every tackle, header and clearance. and the last 8 minutes ...went on .
the TEAM started ok, but the geordies side and their home crowd were up for it too.. Rafa got them playing well above their league position .. i warned fans before that this was going to be difficult...
but felt that it might go easier when VVD powered in the header, virtually unmarked from a corner, then within a few minutes newc had scored .. Studge failed to cover the RB area and it was 1-1, but he sort of made amends with a cheeky back heel into Trent for him to assist Mo scoring a right fotted conversion intot he goal for 1-2 ...
Mane might have done better, and his touch all night was a bit off, need him at his best on tuesday..
REdS failed to clear a corner in the 2nd half, and Rondon , who had given VVD & Dejan a hard time all game scored with a sharp shot as the ball came back into the penalty area..
I am pleased this in THIS game Juergen made EARLY subs .. and Origi is becoming a bit of a super-sub.. a nice omen as we havent really had one since the days of Fairclough...
BIG heart to keep going, but worried about the serious injury to Mo..
Pundits will make a big deal about the free kick award for the winner, but referee (freind?) missed a lot of fouls on Mane & Mo , and on Fab especially, by the home defenders all through this game , so maybe a bit of "REd karma" as the newc players had been hitting Fab all game..
Origi ...with yet another late winner from a great free kick frpm Shaq ..

I am concerned , as stated below if JK can get LIVERPOOL teams energy level back up after an "unlucky" defeat at barca..
190503
... my feeling is that too much respect was given to barca by JK & in general, If Joe was fit enough to play , then play him at CB, despite how Matip played (very well) I feel Joe alongside VVD is a sharper & more effective unit , and allow Trent to push barca back with runs down the right, because Joe is fast enough to cover.. and sorry Juergen but, if Firm is fit enough for the bench and to play late on, then he should start, the effect on the barca defence of having the "fab 3" playing,.. is immense , and i continue my in game doubts for big game tactics , especially whn rakitic :done : Naby for me at least then bring on Bobby ..
Mane needs to be built up by Juergen , and not mention messi , Shanks used to belittle big players to his team, to much friendly admiration and you saw how suarez dumped any friendship in this tie, we have a big game at newcastle tomorrow night, but all supporters need to make Anfield bounce like we did in the semis v chelski in 2005, make messi, suarez , phil & co hate every minute of the game and blow these a&&holes away .. best in the world , my ar&e !
BUT NOW the focus is on the game at ST James park, the geordies will be up for it and RAFA will do his best for the team he manages, Lfc (and their previous boardroom sharks) did the dirty on Benitez to force him out mid-contract, so cant expect "favours" from Rafa, although he has great respect from core LIVERPOOL supporters, and personally will sympathise with the REdS plight...
As for the team selections, its just a reflection of the politics of media & UEFA/SLYtv that LIVERPOOL play 3 of the most vital games of the season in the space of 6 days.. Naby was crocked by a cynical barca ploy, IMO, I would play Joe at CB, Trent back in at Right wing back, and propose..(NOT predict) ;
AB
Joe VVD
Trent Fab Robbo
Hendo Gini
Firm
Mane
& MO
Perhaps OX early on in the 2nd half for Hendo or Gini or Firm depending on energy levels & status of the game

newcastle-vs-liverpool-premier-league-2019-
mainSCRAMwsi (splife) edited by CRS
LIVERPOOL are hoping that manciteh FRAUD klub will slip-up in one of their two final games.LIVERPOOL have an opportunity to put the pressure back on their rivals though given City's game on Monday night. In Newcastle though, they take on a side who have been very impressive in front of their own supporters. Rafa Benitez's men have won six of their last seven league games at St. James' Park, which includes success over Manchester City at the end of January.
The Reds will be hopeful that their former manager doesn't throw a spanner into the works and give rivals the opportunity to win the title, which would all-but sealed on Monday given the goal difference situation. However, newcastle's home form has been excellent and they've already shown that they can beat the very best. The Reds have a dilemma to face regarding the Champions League too.
Liverpool will still hold some form of optimism given their performance at Camp Nou. The fact remains though that they will have to play full strength on both occasions given the time of the season. There's still uncertainty regarding the future of Rafaand newcastle with his contract up in the summer. The Toon Army are desperate for him to stay given the impact he's made and a strong finish to the season will only reiterate his point for transfer funds to spend in the next window.
While Liverpool expect to see the majority of possession, newcastle do have the ability to steal the ball from the opposition and they will have to rely upon that trait if they are to catch the title hopefuls out.
VVD will need to be at his usual best in order to prevent those long balls and crosses into the box, while rondon will likely be his main focus,
It's not as if they've been handed six easy fixtures during this run. newcastle have had to endure tough tests against those battling relegation, alongside beating sides in-form at the time such as Burnley and Everton.
Of course, there was the win over manciteh FRUAUD klub too. They had 24% possession that day and two shots on target, both of which found the net. The stats were all in favour of the away side but Benitez's men executed a plan to perfection.
That is alongside the fact that they had to come back after Sergio Aguero scored within the opening minute. It was a perfect day, and given an intimidating St. James' Park crowd, they have the potential to repeat that and virtually bring to an end the Premier League title race.
Combine that with Newcastle being one of the Premier League's form sides too. Only Liverpool have boasted more home wins in the second part of the season. Liverpool also join Tottenham in being the only two with more home points over the same period.
When it comes to goals scored at home, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City are the only trio who can beat Newcastle's tally. For goals conceded, it's title favourites City and Tottenham who have conceded fewer in front of their own supporters.
Don't write off Newcastle in this contest. This Liverpool side are one of the Premier League's greats, but that doesn't mean they're untouchable Opta facts;
- newcastle have only lost one of their last seven home Premier League games against Liverpool (0-6 in April 2013), winning four and drawing the other two.
- Liverpool have won their last two Premier League games against newcastle – they haven’t won three in a row against them since a run of four between November 2007 and May 2009.
- Liverpool have lost 10 away Premier League games against Newcastle, only losing more against Man Utd (16), Chelsea (14) and Spurs (12).
- newcastle have won their last four home league matches in the month of May, scoring 13 goals and conceding just once.
- newcastle have won six of their last seven Premier League home games, netting at least twice in each victory (L1).
- Liverpool have won their last seven Premier League matches, scoring 20 goals and conceding five. The Reds are on the longest current unbeaten run in the Premier League (15 games, W11 D4).
- newcastle manager Rafael Benitez has only faced Birmingham City (8) more often in the Premier League without winning than he has versus former side Liverpool (P5 W0 D3 L2).
- newcastle’s Ayoze Perez has scored in three consecutive Premier League games, netting five goals in total. Indeed, he’s scored seven goals in his last seven games in the competition, as many as he had in his previous 33.
- After a run of six Premier League games without a goal, Liverpool’s Mo Salah has scored four in his last four in the competition.
- Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson has provided 11 Premier League assists this season – no defender has ever supplied more in a single campaign in the competition. The Scotsman has provided the most assists of any player not to score themselves in the Premier League this season.
LbiRD> sorry, but too much adoration of barca players pre match , and Juergen talked about them too much too, LIVERPOOL players needed more self belief Mane & Mo particularly, Stevie, was better over all than messi , messi has always played with big players around him, Stevie carried Lfc teams many times .. Suarez was nasty last night and I enjoyed his time at Lfc , but like Phil is mercenary ..
and ...I quote Shanks, Bill would have belittled opponents not bigged them up..
............
190501
May day , may day barca 3 Lfc 0 almost instant match report....
it MAY have different, with a better referee, with better formation (Bobby, Trent in) Lfc MAY have got an away goal, and the "karma" MAY have been affected by awards to VVD and Mo distracting the players at a time when playing 3 vital games in 6 days should require total 200% focus... MAYbe...
I got angry with Phil & Suarez , because their transfers to barca reminded me about all that is wrong with the club I adored from youth..now.. sold out to USAcorp and the boardroom sharks that the fsg clones and fannies wont admit are BAD karma for a socialist community.
and all the "friendly comments" of Suarez after leaving Lfc, his actions on the field and celebrations remind me that he is not deserving of "legend" status, just, liek phile another mercenary with fantastic talent, another ronaldo (thats an insult btw, Luis)
Lfc is now one of the richest clubs in the world, with a fantastic dynasty and pedigree in pre-premiere/champions league ... but they only invested properly in the team AFTER building up the financial assets & their sponsors profit , in the last year.. the 2 main products of thAT investment ; AB and VVD came 2nd last night.. https://www.independent.ie/…/wasteful-liverpool-left-needin…
Naby getting "done" the rakitic was predictable , even bookies predicted he would be carded , but the ref didnt punish appropriately , for me too much was said, AND also by Juergen about "stopping messi" (who spoils his obvious world class qualities by rolling over & over when touched, and Milly did "touch" him) the Liverpool echo annoys me by writing headlines that make us seem like we only just recently because a "big club" ,,no , you idiots , barca only became a "big club" recently.. WE (with Bob & Rafa) beat them in came nou twice before in '76 and "07..
The biggest worry , is how the lads are going to raise themselves to play and WIN at Rafa's Newcastle saturday, then only a couple of days later , score 3 without reply in 90 minutes v barca at Anfiield?
I WARNED on friday that Liverpool did NOT play well in the game at Porto (won1-4) nor v huddersfield in the 5-0 ..surprisingly ..no that made me worried about this game because clearly barca will punish failures more than either of the previous opponents.. and really to have to play 3 vital games in 6 days says what is WRONG about UEFA and the SLYTV premiere leagues..
too much talk about phil & suarez, too many Lfc fans saying messi is the best , no STEVIE was the best, have you forgotten already, he didnt have players around him , or a club team properly financed by supporters ... Stevie had to carry a team most of the time, and in big games played several roles to win trophies...
can LIVERPOOL win through ?
Can it be done?
yes! it MAY be...
but , Juergen , stop bigging up opponents, Shanks used to bring DOWN opposing TOP players and build up his own, Juergen has to prove he can do it in the BIGGEST games, this was as big as Basel & Kiev ..it needed something more.. .make Mane realise he can be as big as messi is claimed , Mo to make better decisions .. Lfc should have played to its own strengths , constant changes of CB are not advised,
Joe alongside VVD and Trent at RwB would have caused barca problems, IMO, and if "the Firm" was fit enough for the bench, then start him, because once the damage is done its too late to expect Bobby to rescue the game late on..
headlines about "lessons" make me smile ruefully because this LIVERPOOL team should have already learnt the hard way, THIS tie is where you SHOW you are mature enough to WIN trophies not just challenge..GO do it, at St James saturday, at Anfield Tuesday and the following ...and PROVE you are worthy to be called CHAMPIONS..and SUPPRTERS ..blame yourselves!
MAY be ...

pre barca v LIVERPOOL
190430
Its a action packed season close, or maybe not.. if we go to the final...
a lot of blah blah, but there will be a test at the Nou camp tomorrow (wednesday ) BIG game at newcastle and the manager I most admire is too professional for his team to "roll over" .. LIVERPOOL will go again, to reach 97 points this season and see...(whatever happens we are champions in contrast to the cheating (alledgedly) ;) manciteh FRAUDS klub..
I expect JK will stick to his "old hands (& legs) at Nou Camp..
even though Joe & Ox got some minutes v hudd (5-0) he will want experience in the team .. so propose ..if Firm is fit (otherwise he may slot in OX or Adam ?) and play Mane as striker
AB
Dejan VVD
Trent Fab Robbo
Hendo Milly
"the Firm" (or ?)
Mane
Mo
-----------------------------------------------------------------
i am hoping for the sort of performance as at bayern...
and when Rafa's REdS got a 1-2 victory at camp nou .. 2007?
with JAR & Bellamy , with irony as they had an alleged "disagreement" at the hotel the night before..

"messi said before the start of the season that they wanted to bring back this cup. That sounded already like a threat to me! Now we are here, we want to go to the final as well," said the Reds boss, who when asked to rate messi said he was his number one."We won't be perfect tomorrow, we will make mistakes, we will suffer, 100 per cent. We can't be completely free to play our game.
"I would say a draw would not be the worst result in the world, not that we go for it but it would be OK.
"So many people came to barcelona and had a plan and in the end they got a proper knock."But there were a few who could really cause problems: we saw the game against Real Sociedad and they did well, Levante did well a couple of days ago."
Klopp's record in Spain is poor, with three draws and five defeats, but that does not mean he has not had success against Spanish sides. With Borussia Dortmund he beat Real Madrid on the way to the final in 2013. That had personal benefits for Klopp as he recalled a holiday in Ibiza.
"The restaurant was full but they said, 'You are Jurgen Klopp, you beat Real Madrid, you'd better take it'." Klopp was also reminded of comments he made about pep guardiola's all-conquering barcelona side in 2013, which his hosts viewed as derogatory. Nothing could be further from the truth, argued the German who six years ago said "If barcelona's team of the last four years had been the first one that I saw play when I was four... I would have played tennis instead."
By way of explanation Klopp said: "What I wanted to say was, what I most like in football is that both teams have pretty much the same chance.
"If the other team is much better you can bring them onto your level with tactics. For me, when pep was here, they were so good and so dominant then that is not a competition. That's why I said that. "I like the opportunity in football to use tactics, not only defensive tactics but just to make it an exciting game. That's what I thought and what I think still."

Liverpool handed the hardest tie possible as they face LaLiga champions barcelona.
barca got past manU with ease in their second-leg and will be hoping to claim another Premier League scalp as the REdS aim for a sixth European Champions Trophy , and The Reds would usually be champions of England with their 91 points tally however manciteh FRAUD klub are 1 point ahead as we write, who are yet to transfer their domestic success onto the continental stage.
LIVERPOOL do still have the chance of a double though. whilst barcelona have the motivation of a treble and the fact that a club of their stature have failed to reach the final over the past three seasons.
Liverpool did feature in Kiev last season but were beaten by real madrid. (after Mo was injured and Karius lost HIS head) Juergen could make it back-to-back finals and a good start is key. An away goal will be vital and if they get one, even in defeat, you'd fancy Liverpool, who have beaten Bayern Munich and Porto, away although barcelona could be a much tougher test.
Ernesto Valverde's men are also unbeaten throughout the course of their Champions League campaign and spurs are the only side who managed to avoid defeat at Camp Nou, their other four games in front of their own supporters all ended in wins.In terms of the league, Real Betis are the only side who have been able to win away at barcelona. 14 of Barca's 18 home LaLiga games saw them come out on top, with the club enjoying a seven-game unbeaten run at home in all competitions.
It's set to be an exciting contest , Virgil van Dijk, who was recently crowned the PFA Player of the Year, will have the tough task of trying to keep messi as quiet as possible. An away goal will be vital for the Reds' chances heading back to Anfield for the second leg and it's rare that teams have been able to keep them out this season. Liverpool may well look to catch their opposition on the counter attack given the pace they possess going forward and that could draw fouls as the home side look to limit the number of away goals conceded.
Dutch referee Björn Kuipers also has a bit of a reputation for showing cards when officiating matches in Europe. Each of the five Champions League games he has been in charge of during the 2018/19 campaign have seen at least three yellow cards.
barca v Liverpool - Opta stats
- arce lona have won more Champions League games against English sides (27) than any side has won against clubs from a particular nation in the competition’s history.
- Liverpool have never lost in four previous away meetings with barcelona in all competitions (W2 D2) – against no other side do they have a better unbeaten away record in all European competition (also four vs Porto).
- Liverpool are the only English side to win away at Barcelona in European competition, beating them 1-0 in the 1975-76 UEFA Cup and 2-1 in the 2006-07 Champions League.
- barcelona have only progressed from one of their four European Cup/Champions league semi-finals against English opposition, having been knocked out in 1974-75 by Leeds United, 2007-08 by Man Utd and 2011-12 by Chelsea. Their only such progression came in 2008-09 against Chelsea, before beating Man Utd in the final in Rome.
- This is Liverpool’s 11th appearance in the European Cup/Champions League semi-finals – they’ve progressed from eight of their previous 10, failing only in 1964-65 (vs Inter) and 2007-08 (vs Chelsea).
- barcelona are unbeaten in 31 Champions League home games (W28 D3), the best ever such run in the competition. The Catalan giants have conceded just 15 goals in those 31 games, and never more than once in a match.
- barcelona’s next goal in the Champions League will be their 500th strike in the competition; only Real Madrid (551) have scored more such goals than Ernesto Valverde’s men.
- Liverpool are looking to win three consecutive away games in the European Cup/Champions League since a run of five between September 1983-September 1984.
- barcelona’s messi has scored 24 goals in just 32 Champions League matches against English opposition, however the Argentine has failed to net in his two previous such appearances versus Liverpool.
- Only Steven Gerrard (21) has scored more European Cup/Champions League goals for Liverpool than their current trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino (14 each).
LIVERPOOL 5 .. hudd 0
LIVERPOOL 5 v (roy?) hudd 0 (Naby, Mane 2, Mo 2)
Before the game I made the point that after the mance derby, which i didnt bother watching, because i knew anyway that manu are on a repid decline... that so many defeatist Lfc "fannies" were laying out blame, and ceding the league to the manciteh FRAUD klub.. nearly all pointing to the "blip" in january when LIVERPOOL (unluckily IMO) lost narrowly to the blue mancs at theirs , and drew a couple of games, but few if any mention how the blue mancs blew theur lead and lots MORE points in december than Lfc did in January...including a home defeat to palace (woy) and at Rafa's newcastle...
tonight was terrible, ;) arguably the worst game LIVERPOOL have played at ANFIELD ALL SEASON, LOOSE PASSING, LOSING THE ball in so many places that I have to say if LIVERPOOL play similar at barca next wednesday.. we are out of europe...
Team , and the crowd did not wake up until about 60mins ANFIELD SHOULD have been BOUNCING from the start .. if teh team had played anythign close to best form it would have been 10, and wiped our any "goal difference" advantage the mancs have,
Naby made the first goal with by sharp pressing their CB form the off , inter changed with Mo and scored on 16 seconds ... maybe too early as the players seem to relax and passing was a bit ragged and pressing unconvincing..
a few chances wasted, then Mane firmly headed home a Robbo cross, and Trent put Mo through to chip over ther goalie for 3-0 ... flattering scoreline at half time..
I expected JK to have kicked some backsides, but play was stil loose , until Hendo assisted a second header by Mane .. and Robbo was set to assist by Mane and Mo slotted home from Robbos pass..
even VVD wasnt , for me, at his best, Gini cleaned up some errors, & helped keep most things together, Naby buzzed .. Hendo wasn't as good as last week and Studge,, wasn't really in the game , apart from a narrow offside decision denied him a goal. He didnt seem to "be there" considering this was a big chance with "the Firm" sidelined (?) ... I am surprised that the subs were not made earlier ; Shaq & a welcolmed Ox , with Joe later relieving Studge, Gini & Trent ,
...
I hope there were no injuries.. and a lit bit of mention for Hudd,, who at times looked more like title chasers than the home side (in the first half hour at least)
sort them out ! (Juergen sees it a tad differently ; ha ha ha ; what-a-number-that-is-jurgen-klopp-gives-his-verdict-as-liverpool-break-the-90point-barrier-

LIVERPOOL v hudd. Friday 26 April
LIVERPOOL will need to keep the pressure on..
Too much is being said on social media about manu & manciteh FRAUD klub, LIVERPOOL have to win their games, there is possibly SIX to go, next week at barca , will be followed by a game at St james park, and then Tuesday at home for the return v barca at Anfield , so from tomorrow (Friday) that's 4 big games in 12 days..
the Premiere league don't help the teams playing European semis , so just have to get on with it, I am sad about the attitude of some "Lfc fans" ..
Only once in my life when I was a kid did I cheer manu (when it was a kid , and the team with George Best were in a european final in the 1960's , when Busby (ex Liverpool capt) and a brave man who survive Munich disaster , & will never cheer on man u or manciteh FRAUD klub .. both are FUBAR now.. don't EVER let yourselves be influenced by media & pundits who love to make headlines like "Lfc fans cheering on man utd" that's just media BS ! support OUR team , whatever and none other,..!

I loved the passion of Gini and that the players worked out the move from the corner to get that vital first goal at Cardiff.. but maybe just wonder , considering how many there are in the "backroom staff" of Juergen , they THEY didn't spot this.. Juergen has improved his in game management & subs this season, but I always found it strange considering they are all "well paid Pro's" that his staff do not seem to see thinks that often core supporters can... I would suggest he places one of them in the stands ? in a central seat to see what we see from Tv .. .. or is that too "simple" ..
this game is as important as any, despite huddersfield's relegation, they have players , who without pressure now would be able to play freely, so the REdS cant afford to relax... and without being arrogant perhaps narrow the goal difference .

Anfield, 2000 BST kick-off
LIVERPOOL may have suffered a title setback in midweek, but they can only concentrate on their own fixtures and hope for the best before the end of the season. manciteh FRAUD klub's midweek derby win at manu. means guardiola's side lead the way (1 point) with three games to go. who have Burnley (a), Leicester (h) and Brighton (a) to face in the final run-in
Liverpool, also have a Champions League semi-final double header with barca between now and the season's end, face huddersfield (h), newcastle (a) and wolves (h).
A run of four draws in six from the end of January to early March saw Jurgen Klopp's side lose the advantage in the race for the crown, but they have still lost just once all season and won six league games in a row. Should they win their remaining fixtures, they will be on 97 points and that total would have seen them win the title in five of the previous eight campaigns so have been incredible regardless of the final outcome.
hudders' season, meanwhile, is petering out as they head for the Sky Bet Championship. Jan Sierwert's side equalled the Premier League record for the earliest relegation when their fate was confirmed at the end of March. They have won just once since the start of December and have rarely looked like winning, with goals the big issue having scored just 20 all campaign. With the pressure off, fellow relegated side Fulham have won back-to-back games since their demotion was confirmed, but that reaction from the Terriers has looked unlikely.
A win on Friday would see Liverpool go top again until at least Sunday afternoon and anything less would likely mean the end of the title race. Mane has 18 Premier League goals to his name this term, three of them with his head. He may not be the tallest, but late runs from the far post make him a threat in all situations, especially when converting from close range, and he has had 18 headed efforts in total this term - more than any other Liverpool player. He averages nearly three shots per game in the competition and has had a great season for the Reds.
Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 13 meetings with Huddersfield in all competitions (W10 D3), since a 0-1 loss in November 1959. Huddersfield haven’t scored in any of their last eight meetings with Liverpool in all competitions (D1 L7) since a 1-1 draw at Anfield in the second division in April 1962. Chris Balderstone netted for the Terriers that day. Liverpool have won four of their last five top-flight home games played on Fridays,
Liverpool are unbeaten in 14 Premier League games, winning each of the last six in a row. At home, they’re 38 league games without defeat, the second longest such run in Premier League history (Chelsea, 86). Liverpool have already accumulated 88 points this season, their most in a Premier League campaign. In top-flight history, only in 1987-88 (90) and 1978-79 (98, converted to 3 points/win) have they gained more in a season. huddersfield are winless in their last 11 away league games (D1 L10), failing to score in eight of those.
hudd have lost all five of their away league games vs the current top six this season by an aggregate score of 2-19. 10 of Liverpool’s last 13 Premier League goals have been scored in the second half of games. Their last six in the competition have been scored after half-time, ultimately earning the Reds six points. Mo Salah has scored in all three of his Premier League games for Liverpool on Fridays.
No player has scored more for the club in the competition on Friday than MO (3, level with mowen). huddersfield’s grant has scored in three Premier League games for huddersfield Town and ended on the losing side in all three – only one player has ever scored in more Premier League games for a single club and lost them all (Dean Whitehead for Sunderland, four games). Liverpool’s Sadio Mane has scored nine goals in his last eight Premier League home games, having netted just five in his first nine at Anfield this season
This after a less than comfortable 0-2 away win at nasty warnocks cardiff .. ( Gini & Milly's Pen) .. puts LIVERPOOL back on top 2 points ahead of the manciteh FRAUD klub (mcFK) .. I remind you that IF LIVERPOOL win all the remaining games (which could be 6 if all goes well) we would have 97 points & "number 6" (another big ears for the Anfield trophy rooms) ...
if 97 points does not secure the league, I will remind everyone that there is a "karma" since the League was virtually sold off to murderochs SLYtv, who then dictate when games will be played without a care about the travelling supporters ,, or the cost ; which mostly removes the "TRUE REd socialist" from the stadium..
and that "mcFK" will probably NOT have points dedeucted for alledged fraud, (as in 2014 , when ..they were given the title despite their corruption then..)
for me it will be enough to have the team a the top again..
....
and ..
I think of her skin as smooth as silk,

I dream of her form , oh so vital..
but most of all, I want the Title.. ... again #19

almost instant Match report (20h) 190421 ,,
cardiff 0 LIVERPOOL 2 , Gini & Milly
There you are, just first looking at the scorers , for a change, for me, both expected by "comman fans" to be benched behind NK, Fab & Shaq, ..but as with Hendo they have done as much as any to keep the "double dream " alive..orror movie
first half looked like a hangover from the away winat poor toe, attacks too predictable , not quick/sharp enough to worry a home bus parked in the cardiff pen arae....
However the 3 manufactured a good chance for "the Firm" who, however , out it over the bar froma few metres ..Hendo did the same later on..
until, what seemd.like another poor corner from Trent tied up Gini for a half volley to make it 0-1 ...and LIVERPOOL back on top of the table..
cardiff had only lost 2-0 at manciteh Fraud klub, and fighting to avoid relegation the nasty warnock got his players wound up as spoilers
warnock looks like some character, and I hope they go down and brighton escape relegation by way of points from the skyblue mancs in the last game of the season, i dotn expect utd to get anything agains their neighbours , this afternoon they surrendered early at Goodison..
Mo was always buzzing, Mane in & out of the game, "the Firm" always busy linking up play, Naby looked assured without being able to thread his dribble through the packed cardiff defence, Gini returned to his form,. holds up play , keeps possession and pivotal in the midfield, Robbo frestricted , Trent, not quite back on form ..,the whole team looked a bit ragged after the clinical finishing at poor toe..
three points , is the only important "stat" ... in with a chance,,,thing is, LIVERPOOL, IF winning ALL the remaining fixtures , will have 97 points and European champions trophy number 6 .. then I dont care what happens in the slyTVleague or at manciteh FRAUDS klub..WE are LIVERPOOL , our results are the only ones that count for anythign worthwhile...the rest are fakers..:p
