After the game at villa and v genk, I stay with my opinion that the REdS should have rested the majority of players .. with 4 clear days before playing the blue manc rivals, giving a game to most the "first teamers" may help the momentum, especially as genk made it difficult for parts of the game..
the TEAM needs to make sure their focus is 200% and I am sure JK & the staff will look at some of the "softness" of recent games (coming back after losing goals to win 4 and draw one (at OT) ...is hopefully something we wont need on sunday.. Liverpool are overdue to batter an opponent at ANFIELD this season, but of course I would take a 1-0 ..
I just hope that Jk & guaridola dont set up cagey to avoid defeat like last seasons 0-0..,

The narrow & late wins by LIVERPOOL (in white shirts!) at villa and the blue mancs scraping past a soton team 2-1 after being at 0-1 at home to a team recently humbled by leicester (9-0) places the REdS 6 points ahead goign into the big mathday next sunday 10th november at Anfield..

Home sweet home for Reds
city's recent record at Anfield will give them cause for concern going into Sunday's game.
They have not won at the venue since May 2003, when Nicolas Anelka scored both goals in a 2-1 Premier League win for a city team featuring schmeichel, barton and Robbie Fowler.
Since then they have drawn six and lost 12 of their 18 visits in all competitions, including six straight defeats before last season's goalless draw.
Liverpool have scored 34 goals to city's 16 in those games and enjoyed three 3-0 wins as well as a 4-3 success in January 2018.
Added to that, star striker aguero has never scored at Anfield in eight appearances for the club, nor in his two visits with previous employers Atletico Madrid.
Indeed, of the current city squad, only d.silva, b.silva, gundogan and the injured sane have scored for the club at Anfield.
Potent attack to buck the trend?
aguero, though, plays his part in this season's leading Premier League attack - and that is what will give city hope of ending their miserable run at Anfield.
With 34 goals, city are seven clear of Leicester as the top-flight's top scorers and nine ahead of Liverpool - while their goal difference is eight better, despite their six-point deficit at the top.
The statistics underpinning that tell the same story - city have taken 240 shots this season, 53 clear of Liverpool's second-placed tally, and have hit the woodwork 10 times. That is twice as often as any other side, suggesting their goal tally could be even more dominant.
aguero is joint second in the Golden Boot race with nine goals, one behind the Foxes' Jamie Vardy, while sterling has seven and de bruyne has set up nine.
Liverpool are clear at the top, unbeaten and with the most wins in the league, but with such a potent attack City will hope the breaks go their way this weekend for an overdue Anfield win.
That has been the case in the last two seasons as well, though - city led the league by six goals and 76 shots last season and by 22 goals and 27 shots in 2017-18 - and trips to Anfield have produced only that goalless draw and 4-3 loss.

- Liverpool have only lost one of their last 28 top-flight home games against city (1-2 in May 2003), and are unbeaten in their last 16 against them at Anfield in the Premier League (W11 D5).
- After losing four Premier League games in a row against Liverpool between 2015-2016, city have lost just one of their last five against the REdS in the competition (W2 D2).
- city are winless in their last 16 Premier League away games against Liverpool, their longest such winless streak against an opponent in the competition’s history.

- Since becoming barca manager in 2008, city boss guardiola has lost more games against Juergen in all competitions than he has against any other manager (7).
- city striker agΓΌero has made seven Premier League appearances at Anfield without scoring, the ground he has played at the most without finding the net. The argentinian has had 10 shots across those seven games, with just two on target.

It will be interesting to see what Liverpool do here ahead of their big game with Manchester City on Sunday. Do they:
- Start a strong team and see the game off before resting players?
- Rest some of their key men and field their fringe players against Genk?
It would be a surprise to see their front three all starting, especially with Mo Salah's recent ankle issues, and, with this in mind, the bookies already have Divock Origi as odds-on to score.
Even with their fringe players, and given Genk's poor record in the Champions League, the feeling is Liverpool can still run out comfortable winners at Anfield.
They have, in their two Group E wins, scored in the opening 10 minutes -Opta stats

My instant reaction, Over all REdS deserved 3 points , but let spurs in early on but laid seige to their goal...for much of the game, well done Hendo for the equalizer Mo off form, injured .. maybe a chance for Origi to shine .. ... arguably MotM but too often the REdS were too deliberate on the ball.. spurs played defensively and as nasty as leicester did last time out at Anfield.,... I had a " heavy night " few bevvies and a dance with a young lass & met "MM" ... hmmmm :) and I am comsidering an early night, wonder if i will dream as vividly as last night..! first dream I was driving a Porsche, almost like it was a remote vehicle, and i lost control and drove iit into a river under a bridge, similar to the one in Podgorica L( then .. another dream a bunch of "mates" and myself wanted to have a game of football on a local park, no teams , just a jkick around and one of them was Kenny (Dalglish) and he was supposed to bring my boots in a bag from where we changed, but he couldnt find them , so we were all waiting around to start because Kenny couldnt find me boots :) ha ha I was having a go at him for "losing" them

Rafa, and with due respect to a legend that is Kenny, , was/is the best manager Lfc had since 1990 , complete understanding of youth development, club management through all strategic & tactical aspects , home or abroad ....Benitez had a 10 year plan disrupted by USAcorp (G&H/+ henry & co) during and after his removal and the damage has been done , probably biggest error of Lfc boardoom in over a quarter of a century to remove him, some fans underestimaed his value, true Red supporers still love his commitment , on & off the field , in he Liverpool community.. whatever happens today!
